Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy. Any cancellation made after the contract is signed, and up to 180 days prior to the event will be refunded the total cost minus a $250.00 processing fee. Any cancellation within 180 days of the event will result in forfeiture of the entire amount.

Act of God. In the unlikely event a, Act of God (earthquake, flooding, wildfire, plague, terrorism, etc.) prohibits the Homestead from hosting your wedding on the scheduled day, the Homestead will reschedule, at no additional cost, on the earliest day acceptable to both parties. The Homestead will grant reschedule requests at any time, but if the original date turns out to have been "viable", then the rescheduling Responsible Party will receive no credit towards their rescheduled date. The Homestead will do its best to resell an abandoned date, and if successful, the Homestead will credit the rescheduling Responsible Party the amount received from the new booking, minus the $250 processing fee.

A wedding is considered “viable” if the Homestead can host a group size of at least 100 (2/3rds of normal capacity) and allow the essential wedding traditions such as the ceremony, reception dinner, speeches, and dancing. Government requirements to social distance and wear masks alone, for example, are not grounds for rescheduling. In the event of a wildfire, a wedding is considered “viable”, if the Homestead is operational and the air quality index is below 200.

Weddings may be rescheduled, for full credit minus the processing fee, multiple times if the circumstances warrant.

All parties acknowledge that in cases of “Acts of God” it is extremely difficult to define fair and reasonable outcomes in advance. However, the Responsible Party acknowledges that in asking the Homestead to hold and prepare for their wedding date, the Responsible Party is assuming financial responsibility for that date, whether they ultimately use the date or not. Understanding this, the Responsible Parties agrees to make all payments to the Homestead on the dates they are due, and directs the Homestead to use those funds to prepare for their wedding. And the Homestead agrees, to the best of its ability, to offer other remedies such as partial refunds or discounted weddings, depending on the circumstances of each “Act of God”. Such other remedies are at the Homestead’s discretion and will be considered on a case by case basis.
