Welcome to the Brown Family Homestead.
We appreciate you stopping by.
Hello and thanks for checking in about the Brown Family Homestead! We are a rustic, outdoor destination venue located on 15 private acres at the foot of Dirty Face Mountain, on the north side of Lake Wenatchee. The property is surrounded by trees, open meadows, the Cascades, historic buildings, and even a few Homestead animals. In addition to having a gorgeous (and meaningful) space, we pride ourselves on having an easy-going, nature-loving, organized team to show you around the homestead (or even to help plan your big day).
Meet the Team
We hope you will consider coming by for a tour. Just leave us your information on our “Contact Us” page and we’ll set something up!
Kailen Duffield, Owner
Hi, I'm Kailen, owner here at Brown Family Homestead. It is such an honor to share our little piece of paradise with our couples and guests. With several years of experience coordinating events and working in hospitality, I truly understand what it takes to pull a team of vendors together and execute a high-quality event. As a mom, animal lover and nature enthusiast, working under the craggy peak of Dirtyface Mountain at the beautiful homestead is simply a dream. Whether you’re dreaming of a grand celebration or an intimate gathering, my goal is to deliver a smooth, stress-free experience that allows you to simply enjoy your day. I can’t wait to meet you and help bring your wedding vision to life!
Karen Dickinson, Homestead Owner
Hi, I am Karen Dickinson (Brown), this generation’s custodian of the Brown Family Homestead. The Browns came to this valley in 1902, and this very special property has been in my family ever since. We’ve been doing our own weddings here for generations, and we’re delighted to have opened our doors to other families... Over the last ten years, it’s been my pleasure and honor to organize weddings in our beautiful valley. We offer simple country weddings for couples who find more beauty in each other, and a mountain meadow, than they find in pricey city venues. In addition to helping plan special moments, I spend much of my time with my family enjoying the outdoors.
Lerin Melton, Lead Bartender
Lerin has spent the last 5+ years bartending weddings with a fast pour, a quick comeback, and just enough sass to keep things interesting. She’s worked in customer service her entire adult life(because parenting), so she can handle just about anything the night throws at her, from old college pals and rowdy uncles to the classic “I swear this is my last tequila soda.”
Known for keeping the cocktails flowing quickly and the atmosphere easygoing, she loves creating the kind of bar guests keep wandering back to all night long. Equal parts smartmouth and people person, she’s happiest in the middle of a busy wedding making people laugh, handing out compliments, and making sure everyone’s having a good time right up until cutoff.
When she’s not behind the bar, she’s usually off traveling, mountain biking, skiing, or finding another excuse to be outdoors. Her philosophy is pretty simple: cold drinks, good music, happy parents, and enough fun stories for everyone to laugh about the next morning.
Hayden Peck, Coordinator
Hi, I'm Hayden, a coordinator at Brown Family Homestead. I have been working in events, festival, and program coordinating for the past decade. You can find me behind a bar, backstage, behind a lens, or behind a computer at any given time. When I am not in the event world you will find me sea kayak guiding in the San Juan Islands or enjoying winter as a professional ski patroller at Stevens Pass. I love every little detail that goes into planning special gatherings- making lasting memories by bringing friends and family together. My focus is to ensure a consistent, peaceful, and unforgettable experience. I look forward to working with you!
Alli Schuh, Bartender
Hi there! I'm Alli and I am so excited to be joining you as one of your event staff and bartenders for your special day. My hope is that together we can create an unforgettable experience that makes you feel celebrated and cherished from the first toast to the last dance. I love helping to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where guests can relax, connect, and truly enjoy the moment. Whether I'm crafting cocktails, keeping the energy flowing behind the bar, or lending a helping hand wherever needed, I'm honored to be a small part of such a meaningful celebration. Cheers to an amazing day filled with love, laughter, dancing, and memories that will last a lifetime.
